Will Couples of the 2000s Last?

What can you think of the couples and families of the 2000s? While individual needs are the central concern of our society, what will become of these institutions? Will they last?

Since the 1970s, the couple and the family have experienced serious upheaval: free love, separation, divorce, single parents, and stepfamilies, among other changes. There was also a marked increase in the rate of celibacy, especially in big cities. Be together for better or for worse is now over!

Although many are worried about these changes, this break has helped bring serious problems to light in couples and families. To name them, physical, verbal, psychological, sexual abuse, alcoholism, drug addiction. Now, it is easier to get out of an unacceptable relationship and ask for help.

Beyond these extreme situations, people have other reasons to consider a break. For example, persistent conflicts, values which are too different between partners, an imbalance of involvement or commitmen, excessive stress, exhaustion, lack of complicity or trust, personal failure, pain, sexual dysfunction, infidelity, lack of desire or love, a power imbalance, difficulty communicating, etc.. Seen through the lens of the past, these reasons may seem innocuous.  Sometimes they are, too.

Asking for help

That's when that external assistance from a professional or a skilled therapist can be helpful. We must realize, human beings must face various obstacles and overcome several crises in their life. Whether alone or in couples, this is a mandatory path. If well lived, a crisis can be an opportunity for renewal in a couple and can strengthen the ties between the two spouses. By cons, if the decision to leave was inevitable (it may be preferable), therapy will, however, allow the two to try everything before making this important decision.

It seems easier to start over elsewhere. Yet, changing partners does not always make us happier and we often return to the problems which have not been resolved in a previous marriage. Then, we get the same point.

Being a couple in an "auspicious" era as ours sometimes requires swimming against the tide. It takes patience, time, listening, caring, sharing, delicacy and great humility to build and maintain a strong bond of love. These values are not fashionable, but they are undoubtedly those which will help the couple in 2000 survive. And let it be said, there is no human feeling strong enough to maintain a relationship without effort and commitment!

The Couple's Secret of Longevity

0 comments
The Sunrise Senior Living, one of the largest providers of support services for independent living for seniors, has reported the results of a survey conducted in 2008 among couples married for over 50 years.

Here are the secrets of longevity:

1 - Do not go to bed angry
Many couples have admitted that sometimes they were angry at bedtime, but they made sure not to maintain their anger long.

2 - Say "I love you" regularly
Some spouses believed to pronounce these words of love before going to work in the morning while others didn’t want to do it every night.

3 - Kiss your spouse before bedtime
Most couples have stressed the importance of regularly expressing their love and affection. What's better than going with a goodnight kiss to nourish a relationship?

4 - You will argue from time to time
One spouse noted that although he had differences with his wife, "she never packed up." It is normal to have some small misunderstandings, but it is important to resolve them together so that you do not get to appeal to divorce law.

5 - Exercise of trust and mutual respect
The majority of spouses said that respect and trust were essential ingredients for the success of their relationship.

6 - Give yourself a good time together
A couple encouraged the newlyweds to invent several honeymoons, while others discussed their dinners in the restaurant or their dance nights in town.

7 - Show some understanding and compromise
Some spouses joked they do everything their wives ask them to do. However, all couples said that recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of others and mastering the art of reciprocal concessions are the keys to their happiness.

8 - Laugh together
The importance of being first makes you good friends and makes you laugh together, this being a frequent theme of the survey.

9 - Communicate and listen
One resident recommended having a "partner smart and listen." In fact, all couples recognize the importance of communication between partners and, of course, understand that sometimes it's just better to be silent.

10 - Celebrate special occasions
Many couples have told their romantic getaway to celebrate birthdays, holidays or special dates, while others celebrated Valentine’s Day every day.

Did you know?

To prolong the marriage, the couples married for over 50 years indicate that people should get to know as much as possible about one another before getting married, that they should go out together regularly, treat each other as they would like to be treated, ignore defects and not reduce everything to money and marriage as a joint venture, otherwise, they will always find some things to work as divorce grounds.

Plan Your Holiday With Your Partner

0 comments
The holidays are not here yet, and they are already causing us concern. Here are some strategies to help you plan a vacation as a couple, without the hassle.

You do not agree on the destination

You are not dreaming of palm trees and the sand and he only thinks about climbing Mount Everest ... almost. It starts badly! But instead of stoically maintaining your positions, learn to make compromise. Imposing your choices will lead nowhere. If things go wrong, you'll feel guilty and stressed out and your vacations will be damned.

Listening, creativity and flexibility are a must to solve what appears to be an impasse at first sight. At first, explain your needs and then listen to his motives. Understanding your partner’s perspective often helps you realize that your needs and are not necessarily incompatible. Instead, it opens new avenues. For example, several destinations can combine swimming and climbing. Just get informed.

Another approach to find common ground: take notes of the advantages and disadvantages with each suggestion. Then, set the suggestions together. You just have to scratch the choices that are too distant and discuss only those that would apply to both. Tip: gather some documentation about the destinations you seek. It will be easier for you to convince the other.

Your spouse wants to leave alone... with a couple friends

Two scenarios are possible: he wants to go with you or ... without you! If he wants to go alone with you, some explanation is required. There may be a problem and it must be addressed. Also, you must accept that you have different interests and, more importantly, your Julius can take pleasure in doing things with other people than you.

The advantage of the situation is that it allows you to make your side trips that are important to you. More importantly, it can possibly enrich the couple, increasing commitment and foster reconciliation. Imagine all the adventures to tell after the holidays! Naturally, this requires great trust in your relationship. Otherwise, you may experience a feeling of abandonment that only goes away in time. If you do not feel comfortable with this choice, say so and find an alternative.

Your spouse wants a couple of friends with you

He wants to ask a couple of friends to join you. If you cannot stand this couple for more than six hours, think twice before accepting. A good shouting match before leaving is better than two weeks of hell. Set the record straight from the start by simply telling the other couple, "We're leaving together, but we are not obliged to follow each other step-by-step. We want to have intimate moments and do some activities alone. "Express your expectations without remorse, even if they feel offended.

The idea does not displease you, but do you know a little about the couple in question? Try the experience of living together for a weekend just to see, before making a decision of extensive time.

The couple who accompanies you yell at each other all the time

Holidays are too valuable to waste with the childishness. So, there is no question of acting as if nothing happened. Tell that to the couples whose disputes annoy you. Explain how you feel when you witness such disputes. If nothing changes, keep your distance by doing activities on your own. Do not attempt to play the role of the mediator (because of your profession) if you don’t know exactly how to do it. Otherwise, you may be caught in the middle. Each spouse wants you to witness or try being in their shoes. Ultimately, both are likely to blame you. Forget it!

Did you know?

To make your holiday as enjoyable as the members of a couple are one for the other, choose to alternate the vacation destination. This year, you might go in the mountains and next year at the seaside and meantime, select a four-star hotel!

Is Your Relationship Healthy?

0 comments
A healthy couple relationship from a sexual and an emotional point of view must meet certain qualifications. Here are five rules to respect!

In simple terms, a healthy relationship is one that allows you to feel good about yourself and your partner. Not only will you have fun together, but you can express your true self and allow your partner to do the same. Of course, relationships differ from one another, but healthy relationships share at least five important qualities. The acronym SHARA can help you remember these qualities.

1.    Security: In a healthy relationship, you should feel safe. You're not worried that your partner is going to hurt you physically or emotionally and you are not tempted to resort to physical or emotional violence against your partner. You can try new things (for example, take an evening course) or change your mind about something (eg, indulge in sexual activity that makes you uncomfortable) without fear of your partner’s reaction.
2.    Honesty: You do not hide anything important from your partner and you can express your thoughts without fear of being criticized or ridiculed. You can admit you're wrong. You solve the conflict through honest discussion.
3.    Acceptance: You accept yourself as you are. You appreciate your partner’s unique qualities (eg sensitive or embarrassed) and you do not try to change them. (If you do not see your partner’s qualities, you might want to examine your motives for being with that person.)
4.    Respect: You have a high opinion of one another. You feel neither inferior nor superior to your partner markedly. You respect the other's right to have opinions and different ideas. This does not mean you have to tolerate everything your partner does or does not do(for example, refuse to get help for an alcohol problem). This is a sign of self-respect as to set limits.
5.    Accreditation: A good relationship is not limited to how two people treat each other: it must also include the approval. In a healthy relationship, you feel full of energy and life in your partner’s presence. You can play and laugh together. You're having fun.

The opposite of a healthy relationship is an abusive relationship. Such relationships include law enforcement, fear and lack of mutual respect. Typically, one partner takes control while the other hides in resentment or fear. The characteristics of an abusive relationship include intimidation, insults, blame, depreciation, guilt, questioning and jealous violence pure and clear.

Abusive relationship

If you think you are in an abusive relationship, chances are he treats you as you are. You may know deep inside you that you'd be better off without this relationship but you're afraid to stop it. Perhaps you rely on your partner's income, you are afraid to be alone or you streamline the relationship as "better than nothing." By cons, long-term abusive relationships are more detrimental to your self-esteem than the absence of a relationship (and the opportunity to find one that is healthy).

You may think that you have no options, but you certainly do. A social worker and (or) a counselor can help you develop a strategy that will allow you to get out of abusive relationship. Your doctor or local sexual clinic / regional can refer you to appropriate counseling services.

Having Time in a Couple

0 comments
Caught in the daily routine, many couples put their family first and not their relationship. Yet, time together is essential for the survival of the couple.

Couples today are often on the run, managing  concerns of both their working lives and their children, as well as the encounters with their friends and family. However, it is essential to make time for a marriage, so put it on the agenda!

Caught in the whirlwind day, overwhelmed by obligations, it often happens that people forget to prioritize their relationship. Thus, without realizing it, they seldom find themselves alone and may find being in two difficult because they are too focused on the life they have outside their relationship. Some say that's how everybody lives.

This distance leads many to feel that they no longer know each other or that they no longer have much in common. This occurs when the spouses do not spend more time together and live more like roommates who manage their lives together and as life partners who share particular emotions that led them to choose each other.

The emotional distance often leads to frustration and desiring to feel that we can share something special with someone. From there, many will decide to meet their needs outside of the couple or choose separation. Family time is essential to maintain the relationship and to cultivate communication and loving feelings.

Book a place on the agenda!

How to get to give room to the couple when we are solicited from all sides? Ironically, many will tend to meet all familial needs like the dentist, supper with friends, or sports tournaments for children. And, note on the agenda these items as a priority.

One of the first things to do to get to set aside time to watch is its time slots and make the choice to schedule time for the couple are giving equal importance as external obligations. You choose a Friday evening two for your time together? This time should be a priority alongside other commitments.

Schedule time to two

Subsequently, it becomes important to plan how to spend this time together. It is not necessary to leave the house. If this is possible and that is what you want, do it. However, even if you have children, you can get to have them at home a couple of times. For you to succeed, they must also learn how important it is for their parents. You must remind them that this time is yours. If you choose to dine together, take the time to organize a party, too.

If the children are toddlers, you can choose to wait until they are coated before supper and if they are a little older, they may also have a special evening themselves such as the cinema, pizza, or playdates. You will bring them to respect your time as a couple. This requires to set limits on their intrusion and, also, to have the conviction that the time that you give yourself is a priority for you.

The family time should be part of your life and once a month is not enough.  To get there, you can for example get along with different friends or you can turn to a babysitter.

Family time is essential to maintain long-term relationships and to not become foreigners after a few years.

Where Is My Partner?

Weather: High Pressure or Depression, Storm Warning or Bright Sunshine?

Here is the barometer of your relationship.

I'm tired!

The following are not exhaustive. They reflect unhappiness in marriage, but they are crucial if they are repeated several times.

- Their mannerisms irritate you;
- You cannot concentrate on your work;
- You begin to criticize their personality;
- Your criticism turns into contempt, such as: "the other is really a failure,
   they are good for nothing ....;"
- The other does not respond to anything, including your insults. They
   fold up completely;
- You compete for sleeping on the couch;
- You wonder how you fell in love in the first place;
- You become hypersensitive: sweating, heart rate higher than average
   tremor (when you get excited), attacks of crying ...;
- You refuse to apologize;
- Their attempts at reconciliation are futile;
- When you think about your marriage, you see only the negative aspects;
- The details of everyday life take on a disproportionate importance;
- Despite your legendary loyalty, you think about deceiving the other ...;
- You do not talk any more. Communication with others is a concept you do not understand;
- Their jokes, which have not yet changed in 20 years, exasperate you;
- You solve your problems without worrying about their opinion. Besides, the other responds the same way
   as you;
- You look in the mirror more and more often to see if you are still drinking physically; and
- You no longer live "together". If the other wants dinner, they would go alone. If you have a party with friends: ditto.

In short, you have a different life from that of another. You are married ... but this is just your status.

What Happens to Those Around You When You Are in a Relationship?

0 comments
In case of a divorce, most friends of the couple take sides: yours or your ex-spouse’s. Others take a step back in order not to have to choose because they do not know how to behave.

Furthermore, divorce can hit you where it hurts and mess up your life. Note that you may represent a "danger" as a single for a couple among your friends and that the trio can be embarrassing.

Express your needs

Close friends or relatives sometimes intervene in your life and try to resolve your problems. They often criticize your spouse, trying to make things better. This type of resentful attitude and service does not help. It also makes you feel guilty towards your kids and this can cause you trouble. Those who seek to reconcile with your spouse undermine your efforts to build a new life. It is therefore necessary to go out and keep in touch with your neighbors, too, even if it upsets you. But above all, tell your good friends what you expect from them: go to the cinema with them in order not to be alone; talk about the divorce or about your usual topics of conversation, get advice or so on. Suggest that they also talk about their feelings, including their discomfort.

Family

Generally, the members of your family around you can support you. Nevertheless, it is better to avoid disappointment.  Do not have any illusions about their reactions: it is, after all, essential if the latter are dictated by affection. However, there are decidedly negative reactions. For example, this mother who, because of her jealousy, ceases to speak to her daughter.  The daughter has the chance to divorce, while the mother endured a difficult marriage.

In-laws

You often need a clear break from the in-laws. In many cases, the relationships continued because they were of high quality before the divorce. Sometimes, the family members want you to participate in events of their lives, but do not dare to ask you. Maintaining good relationships with people you appreciated cannot harm you provided they are sure you accepted the reality of divorce. Otherwise, things would be a bit more complicated.

Violence Within a Couple

0 comments
As we said before, it was a head, Marie-France Hirigoyen. But, it was also a heart. This alliance of the two led this woman - doctor of medicine, psychiatrist, and family psychotherapist - to pay close attention to bullying and her newest book, the springs of violence in couples.

Her goal? Women understanding what they have, so that they manage to keep it. For as she explains it well: "The worst violence is not the most visible one and it must be understood in order for action to be taken."

Violence: gradual and insidious

Marie-France Hirigoyen said: "This situation is gradually becoming very insidious and more and more couples state that domestic violence is on top of the divorce grounds list. What makes tracking so complex is that there is initially something positive, a form of seduction. Violence is never there from the outset, obviously. "One little hurtful word, an inappropriate gesture, an attitude designed to make the other humble. Among the many cited in the book one example I was particularly struck by was a man who regularly asked for money from his wife, but he always threw the ticket on the ground, forcing her to bend down to pick it. Such behavior, detached and silent, should turn up the alarm siren.

According to the author,  most of the time the victim tries to excuse her "man": he had a difficult childhood or he has trouble at work ... Women then make the huge mistake of saying: "My love will change this!" It never works, love does not fix it The message to convey is simple: "When we love, we must respect. An insult or a sign of too much from someone you love is unacceptable and it should not be accepted. "

But then, why don’t women react faster and more vigorously? The answer is painful to hear: "Because they fear being disliked or even abandoned." You wonder where the results of active feminists’ actions are.

In acceptance, passivity, submission, isolation, the unsaid, the downward spiral begins. If the woman (since women are victims in 95% of cases) says nothing, if she does not denounce the man, there is no reason for him to stop and she cannot draw the divorce law on her side. This silence can even be a form of encouragement to go further.

Marie-France Hirigoyen’s goal is to inform all potential victims that they can say NO. According to the specialist, the woman must take a stand from the very beginning of a relationship.

The impact of education

"Women magazines sometimes add their own with titles like" How to control your man."

"We must be good housewives, we must be patient with children, we must be sexually inventive... as if the balance of the household depended solely on the woman," says Marie-France Hirigoyen, visibly irritated. What should I do for it not to start? That is the kind of thinking we still hear in separations. The therapist is confident that the men themselves do not pose such a question. And concludes that "the position of women has changed enormously, but the mentality and men and women have not changed that much."

And the children? The author and her book specifically address this question, with supporting examples. Domestic violence should not be tolerated under any circumstances, especially not on the behalf of the children’s well-being, who may also become violent in their own relationships. This last possibility applies especially to boys. Girls exposed to this most often becoming victims.

The Rupture in Women

0 comments
In 75% of separations, women make the decision of leaving the other. What are the reasons that determine women to live separately and how do they break up? Answers and advice from psychologists Helene Baril and St. Francis Father attempt to mitigate the conflicts caused by separation.

Taming the idea of breaking up

"Women often share a dissatisfaction at the level of their relationship. After trying several strategies to improve the situation, they eventually give up and leave their spouse. Initially, the idea of separation is painful, but after a while, it becomes the solution", says Father Francis St, psychologist specializing in couples therapy and expert in divorce mediation. Thus, it would be rare for a woman to terminate a relationship on a whim.

The reasons why women break up vary. "In most cases, women feel neglected by their spouse. They bemoan the lack of communication, pleasure in marriage and no longer feel loved or appreciated," he says. The partner’s infidelity is also one of the main causes of separation. Other women evoke physical or psychological violence, alcohol or drug abuse or incompatible personalities or values.

Breaking Barriers

Many women experience guilt at the thought of being the one who makes the decision to break the couple. This is especially true when there are children in the background. Psychologist St Francis Father highlighted several obstacles in the way of separation. Here are a few:

-Personal beliefs with respect to separation. The fear of never being a couple, for example;
-Children. Some couples stay together for fear of hurting the children;
-The religious values;
-Social pressure and fear of being judged by the others;
-Low-esteem, and
-Financial dependence.

Time, the best ally

Is it possible to break into harmony after sharing years of common life? "I would say it is difficult to speak of harmony, especially at first. However, it is possible to break less wildly," admits St. Francis Father. Psychologist Helene Baril, specializing in marital therapy at the Center for Psychology of Longueuil, concurs: "A rupture causes a lot of emotions. It is a moment of crisis when the partners are not always rational. It is not easy to live, even for the person who made the decision," she says.

Tips for a successful breakup

Here are some tips on how to separate or on how to divorce:

- Avoid separating in a hurry;
- Explain clearly to the person left the reasons for the failure;
- Do not blame the other. "This only accentuates the conflict. Instead of trying to find a culprit, I suggest to
  everyone to reflect on their share of responsibility for this failure. The separation may then serve as a tool
  for change," says Helene Baril.
- Verbalize their emotions. This is an important step in therapy, which can detach quietly. "Men, for example,
  often lack a confidant outside of their wives. During the break, it becomes even more important for them to
  see someone who will listen to them," said Father Francis St.
- Do not say anything. "Sometimes people tend to say everything, but I advise my clients to always wonder
  what the impact on the other may be," says Helene Baril.
- Choosing the right time. Do not start talking about the separation before leaving for the office or from the
  door.

Psychologists Helene Baril and Father Francis St highlight the many benefits of a "healthy" break. "If we took the time to stop and think about what caused the breakup and our share of responsibility, instead of just blaming the other, we would probably learn more about ourselves and generally make better choices later," says Helene Baril. If well done, the separation can also provide personal wellness and open new horizons for each partner. The breakup can be beneficial. Each partner must, however, allow time to solve the situation.

Retired Couple: What Remains of Our Love?

0 comments
For many couples, retirement is the opportunity to travel and to fulfill lifelong dreams. But sometimes the shock is great for those spouses who are not accustomed to being together 24 hours. How to avoid disaster, or separation in order to love and live harmoniously in retirement?

"Approximately 35% of couples separate within the first five years of retirement, "says Marie-Paule Dessaint, Life Coach who leads workshops to prepare for retirement. It's huge and people are separated too quickly because they think their problems will persist."

However, life together is a process that is not static, says Sheryl Gaudet, a social worker and psychotherapist. "The relationship evolves over time. Situations change and people change, too. You have children, you change your job, you move. Retirement is one of the biggest changes in one’s life. This is when we rediscover ourselves and our spouse”.

The preparation

"When we find ourselves together every day, the thing that annoys us and our partner will tend to annoy us more,” Sheryl Gaudet says. “The pace of change can revitalize the relationship or cause problems that we had not even anticipated. Therefore, avoid the mistake of not talking about it before retirement. They should discuss their expectations, what each one hopes to be able to change together with their partner. "

 Sources of conflict

The sources of conflict during retirement differ from one couple to another. But we must first know that the two partners rarely take their pension at the same time. "It's often the one who was already retired who experiences problems when the other one retires because it changes the dynamics," says Sheryl Gaudet.

For women who have spent their lives at home, the sudden and constant presence of a spouse can be difficult to bear. "I have recently reported the story of a woman who, every morning, sent her husband out with his lunch box and told him to go away for the day," says Marie-Paule Dessaint.

Housewives find it difficult to have their spouses with them all day and working women are afraid of being in the service of their spouse. "There is that saying that retirement is much easier for women than for men, says Ms. Dessaint. Whether they work or not, they still top the desire to be good at home decorating and often lack the time to do it. "Their work in retirement is often an extension of the role that they had previously.

Tips for Retirees

Past the first phase of euphoria and disillusionment, it is possible to find a balance so that your married life in retirement is not a nightmare.  “You have to ask personal questions," says Sheryl Gaudet. What did I defer because I never had time to do it? Do I have a talent that I could explore? What have I always wanted to do?"

According to Marie-Paule Dessaint, couples who matter most are the ones that have joint projects. "This is not necessarily great," she said. But it is essential to have projects which we can speak of as common activities, but projects that are not everyday tasks like cleaning and washing. "

It is equally important to do things alone or have a place to be alone. "Many people buy a shed or build a garage in anticipation of retirement, says Marie-Paule Dessaint.

"Everyone needs to keep a territory, Sheryl Gaudet insists. This may be a particular room or office. And we must find ways to keep time in itself. "

Make no mistake: Retirement requires a minimum of preparation and adjustment of either side. "We must remove their rose-colored glasses and be realistic," says Marie-Paule Dessaint. The fewer illusions one has about retirement, the more we succeed. It must prepare them to talk and not have too many expectations. "

Save a Couple From Falling Apart: Is This Possible?

Save a couple from falling apart: is this possible? At what point do we stop making efforts to turn the page when a relationship is doomed to fail?

Martine and Peter have therapy. They have been in a relationship for 20 years and have realized that they are in constant conflict. There is a tension which is present every day and their exchanges are more and more disrespectful. Peter thinks it's a question of sexuality, while Martine talks about a couple intimacy problem. She did not want to make love because they fight all the time! "Is there hope to save our marriage?", she asked.

Couples usually go to therapy because they have: consultation and communication difficulties; family conflicts; differences of opinions about raising children; about values; or tension due to sexual problems. Before beginning marital therapy, it is important to review the history of couples and individuals, their life experiences and the hardships they went through together. Therapy also looks at their strengths, the evidence on which they agree and, finally, at difficulties or at what the source of conflict is.

In many couples, the problems are transient or are occurring as a result of special circumstances. In others, the elements of discord have existed since the beginning of the relationship and have been poisoned in time. If the couple has been in conflict for years - 8, 10, 20 years - we must expect the process to be longer.

Tracking that we think can save the couple

When the balance of the relationship is done, it is important that both partners are involved in real tracking. If, therefore, one of them attends the meetings without becoming involved or lies every day, if they are also present at the meetings and we end up with commitments that are never met, the path is quickly compromised.

If there is not a modicum of respect between the partners or lies and deception are part of the relationship from the beginning, it becomes difficult to recover trust in each other.  Trust is essential for emotional reconciliation. To revive confidence and feel a certain admiration for the other, there should be a feeling of love. However, if the values differ and if one spouse keeps things that can have serious consequences for the couple: gambling, alcohol, drugs, sexual addiction, among other problems.  If these issues are never treated because they are hidden or because they are refused as part of the dynamics of the relationship, we must realize that it will become difficult to save the couple.

Many relationships can be preserved. However, many are doomed to fail! A couple deciding to go to therapy doesn’t mean that the couple will be saved. We must face the facts although it is sometimes too late.

Lust or love?

The loss of desire is something that many women talk about with their girlfriends. Many will say that the desire is gone, and that it's difficult to get a taste.  They have their minds elsewhere and have more desire to stick to their lover than to love them.

When we speak of "loss of desire" or "lack of desire," people tend to mix everything. Take the time to ask: Is the frequency of our relationship which decreases due to the fact that there was no real sexual desire initially, but rather a desire to love?

What is the difference?

Sexual desire is reflected by a physical sensation of warmth and butterflies in the abdomen and not by a desire for penetration or lubrication, which is clearly felt in the genital area.

The sexual desire is most often described by the desire to get closer to each other. Women will usually express this desire by holding the other in their arms. They will often say they want to stick close to their partner, but their desire is to make love.

What kind of desire do I have?

Once an understanding of how you live your desire, you may be able to realize that your partner is not or has never been sexual. It may be that you make love less often than at the beginning of your relationship because your desire of reconciliation is filled with affection.

Is it possible to develop sexual desire?

It is possible to develop sexual desire. Notice if you feel the heat in your belly. For some women, being aware that they had little contact with their bellies leads them to feeling the best. You can also raise awareness of genital sensations when you approach your partner. When you kiss, press your stomach against your partner's in order to feel the sensation of heat that may arise. You can also begin to move your pelvis to stimulate the sensations in your body instead of being polarized in emotions. When integrating the last movement of the pelvis during reconciliations, they feed on sexual desire.

If you feel sexual desire occasionally take time to see in what contexts your desire awakens and what you can feel better. Then follow this track and have a lot of fun!

My Job or My Partner?

Something as normal as going to work every day can become an obstacle when it comes to organizing your leisure time and the relationship with your partner.

A priori, we wake up every morning, we go to work and then return home.  This is the normal routine in many households. Both partners are separated for most of the day and their time to interact is extremely limited.

Each day, the performance level required in the companies is higher and there are many people who stay at work until late. In this competitive society, it is the employee who is more involved with their homework and with the proper development of the company that will be the most valued and that will have more opportunities for advancement.

However, family, friends and social relations, in general, tend to stand in the way of this promotion. In short, life outside the workplace disappears.

Find your balance or shift

Many couples come for consultation because there is good communication between them. As they do not see each other during the day, dinner becomes the ideal opportunity for complaints and recriminations.

Some complain about the work, about how tedious it is to maintain the status acquired, others complain about the hours they spend away from home, about never being seen, about being neglected by their children, etc. Although these complaints are common, no one does anything to improve the situation and this becomes a routine that is often linked to recriminations, arguments, stress, lack of communication, etc.

If we stop to think about the problems that work causes and all that it entails, we would probably be more aware of what we want for ourselves and of what the requirements in the business are.

Maybe we could find a balance and if not, we may have mistaken our career path or it's simply time for a change.

It is a question of priorities

Apart from the communication problems caused by the fact that you are not there all day or by the fact that one is at work until ten at night and the other is at home with the children, homework, shopping and more, we must also take into account priorities of each partner.

Delegating tasks or not taking responsibility for something can cost one very much when it comes to their jobs.  For many, the professional prestige and criticism of others are very important.   They need to deal with all this in order to improve the family situation.  The priorities of each partner is a crucial element.

If you're willing to lose your spouse and children, go ahead, try to be head of production or head of the bank and fight for it, but be aware of what you lose on the way.

If, however, you prefer having a simple life and take your children to school, go to parent meetings, go to the movies on a weekday and so on, then you have to do a reorganization of your working life and see the privileges that it gives you.

There is a series of questions which can help you find out what you want:

- What I would like to have in 20 years: a united family or a job as a manager? Perhaps the two things are
   compatible, but if not, you need to give it some time and assess the situation.
- Do I need the extra economic position and the extra stuff it brings me? "Do I get a raise at work if I try
   harder every day or am I stuck?”
- "Can I live to be another employee or do I need a higher position above all?
- “Will my self-esteem will stay as high as it is now?”
- "Can I talk to my bosses and reorganize my working life?”
- On the other hand, do I usually have discussions with my partner about employment?
- Do I get home so late that the children are asleep and my partner does not talk because they do not think
   I'll get involved?
- Do I live comfortably and spend money on unnecessary whims? Could I live with less?
- Do I do leisure activities outside my family during the week? Do we talk every day and solve problems
   together?

Stop and evaluate the answers to these questions and analyze the situation; maybe you can improve something. If you decide to keep the job you have now and show everyone how competent you are, you will need extra energy to devote to your family and friends.

The attempt to maintain a status above all else and to prove to your bosses and colleagues who is the most competent is no more than a hint of insecurity. If you relax and do what you are required, you will not have to feel obligated to give more.

If you already give all that you can, the wear that comes with wanting to give more can affect other aspects of your life and not necessarily yourself.

Rental crisis

Another component that has to do with life as a couple and the job may be the percentage of couples who split last summer, which is supposedly a time to relax, unwind and enjoy the couple.

However, in many cases, this is a problem, because throughout the year, couples tend to live separately, each one with their work. They only sometimes spend time together and are devoted to domestic issues and the everyday routine. Each one is organized in their own way and lives on their own and they can only be seen at 10 pm for dinner and bedtime.

What happens when you travel? The pattern is changed, you are together all day, you have to do chores, organize vacations, outdoor activities, dinners with friends, family visits and so on and the problems arise when you have to count on the other to organize things. There are all kinds of fights which come up when someone starts organizing things without letting the other one know and so on.

The only problem is the lack of communication throughout the year. You are not used to this situation anymore and it now costs you to incorporate another person in your process, although they are supposed to always be there.

Yet, it would be nice to stop and think of a number of things: if I cannot go before work, if I really like staying at work until 10, if I'd be at the movies or having a drink with my partner, if it cost me as much as I thought, if I can have what I want in both areas, whether it is worth losing my partner just to be a manager and so on and so forth.

I Discovered They Had an Affair

It all depends on who's involved. If this is your best friend, you should try to find out….from him.

It is not a good idea to interfere in relations of others, unless you try to open the eyes of someone who is totally blind, or when everyone knows about it except for the betrayed partner, and they are being publicly humiliated.

 And what do you do?

We get angry that no one has been able to tell us when we have been deceived and have been the last to know. But is it so easy to do it? If this is your best friend and you want to tell her tactfully, but you have so much confidence in someone, your performance can be seen as intrusive and even as an act of bad faith. There are men and women with public antlers who seem to know nothing or who do not want to find out what happens. Is this true? Can anyone be so in love that they could tolerate infidelity? What would you do if someone told you that your boyfriend cheating on you?

The issue is so sensitive and has so many nuances that we sought the opinion of real experts on what to do or what they would like others to do for them in this situation. These specialists are just people, men and women who have been involved in a situation of this kind. What would you do? We conducted a small survey on whether to forgive your partner’s infidelity or not.

"I wish someone had told me" Sara (32 years, journalist)

I spent two years dating a guy I never fell in love with. I was depressed because of a previous relationship and started dating this guy (I cannot call him otherwise) because I needed affection and I needed my hopes to be up again. Then I knew that I would fall in love and I wanted to quit. That started a whole phase consisting of crying, begging, pleading and all sorts of dazzling acts, asking me not to leave him. The guy in question was thirty-five years old, so I was surprised by his attitude. Soon, he began to manifest himself in front of others, showing feeling such as obsessive jealousy. I guess he knew I was not in love with him and that drove him crazy. I was torn between my feelings of shame, guilt and desire to give him another chance (how stupid we, women, are ...). But he stated seeing a lot of odd things about my social relationships and he pretended to have very many friends. These were all lies, in fact, as I discovered later, he was a compulsive liar. Everything was discovered when he started calling his lover more frequently because I was busy with a lot of work, but he came to tell me because I could not stand it anymore. Then it was all very clear - all his lies and al the trouble. What I found blew my mind. I demanded absolute loyalty and he was busy with a lot of women, pretending he was somewhat obsessive about me. The worst thing is that everyone knew about this except for me. He almost killed me for a long time and I was very disappointed with many people. However, I discovered later that he lied so much that many people thought I did not know what to do. Still, I would have appreciated it if people had told me to dump him instead of having to deal with their meanness. It's the worst that has happened in my life. Oh and for those who think women are silly when it comes to infidelity, I would say they are sadly mistaken: he told so many lies, he deceived me so much that no one knew what would happen and things really were.

"It is not me to tell" Carla, 29, nurse

I met "X" through a mutual friend and immediately struck me as the kind of guy who loses his head over women and that he had a girlfriend. I slept with him and I never passed, but I hate that kind of men and I hate misleading anyone. However, many of my friends and acquaintances knew about him cheating on her.  The funny thing was that a year after we met, he began working in the same company as me and he also made out with many associates of our colleagues. And a little later, his girlfriend also entered the company. Everyone knew he was cheating, but he behaved with incredible ease. I must admit that apart from his infidelities, he was a nice guy, a helpful and pleasant guy. We all wondered if she knew, if she had not heard anything or if they did the same. She, as often happens in these cases, is beautiful, intelligent and charming, and I've often wanted to tell but I've never done it. I am not confident about all this and I do not know what to do. They are getting married now and she seems happy. If she were my friend, I would talk to her, but I think I should tell her anyway.

"My friends told me" Luis, 34, businessman

I was going out with a neighbor who also went to my school between 16 and 20 years old. I loved her and I knew she was crazy about me, but she always complained about us not spending enough time together, she blamed me for playing football or doing things with my friends. And it was true, because I was a kid and I loved being with my friends, but I loved her and never cheated. On the contrary, it was she who began to wear the horns. And my friends told me and I was angry because she was so indiscreet (she also slept with people in my school). I took a big stick because it was my first disappointment in love, but I think I took it very well. I went to talk to both of them face to face as I wanted to ask for explanations. We almost fought and it was a typical teenage scene, with the girl crying. I forgave her because she said it was because she was not loved enough. That summer, I went with some friends to Thailand on holiday and I slept with three girls, something I never told her about. We stayed together for a few more months and she did the same with my friends, who then told me about it. I left her for good. Nevertheless, I have never held a grudge, I think I really wanted, but she was a faithless person by nature. What I appreciate is that my friends opened my eyes. I would have been much angrier if I had been mocked by a “horny” cheater.

"I regret not having told him" Sergio, 35, lawyer

If I got to find out about something now, I would act differently. I got along great with two co-workers who then got engaged and eventually married. He was and is a great guy, in fact we are still friends even though I still feel a little bad about not having had more courage to tell him what many people knew about. She was not as noble as she looked. In fact, I never liked her as she was a too ambitious girl. He soon went to work for another company where I incidentally had a couple of acquaintances. Two months later, she bundled with the chief, who was an older guy and a quite unpleasant one, but he had a lot of money. I was going with them for dinner once in a while and I was sick of seeing him so excited about it and talking about having children. Her aunt was a cynical woman, who led an incredible double life. But guys are sometimes too discreet for that, we do not like getting into people's lives to avoid trouble. After a year without knowing anything about them, I learned that they had separated because of her infidelities as an acquaintance had told him about them (much less a friend than me). I was told he forgave her and wanted to try it again, but it was she who said no. And I'm glad, because he was far more valuable than her in every way and he has now remade his life with a wonderful woman. But I regret not having told him and not having been surer about it. Also, he called to ask me if I knew and I know he was quite disappointed to learn that I had not said anything.

"My friend did not believe me" Silvia, 29, stylist

I am now very glad about having told my friend that I had seen her boyfriend with someone else, but she did not believe and only said that I imagined things. But I knew very clearly what I had seen. I thought I should give it more time (something I thought I should not tell her because I would look too hard). We spent several days without speaking and I had to leave to stay with the two of them together. Things were very weird because he wanted to prove to her that I was jealous of her, although things were completely different. Still, I knew she was doing very badly, I was confused and I was very suspicious about something going wrong. So, I thought I should not postpone it anymore, so I did not stay idle because I knew he had a double life with another girl (there was one of those amazing coincidences in life). What I did was stay with my friend in a place where I knew he would be going with the other. I made sure that they could not figure it out in order to avoid an unpleasant scene, but it happened. She made a terrible injury, but immediately apologized and thanked me for opening her eyes. Then she could see what a liar and a despicable person he was. After this, she asked me not to keep anything away from her if it ever came to this kind of things and I promised her I would do this.

"I preferred to say nothing" Marta, 39, professor

A couple of years ago, one of my college friends bundled with a student. I found out accidentally, when they went to visit a relative in a town where I found my chance of escape. At first glance, it might seem something of a scandal, because he was married with two children, but always seemed a good, honest and noble man and he had never before had an affair with a student. For me, it was uncomfortable hearing this, I would have been better if I had not known, when I saw them, I did not want to judge them, but I could not help it. So I did not take a stand as much as possible, something which they should have found shocking because we had a very good relationship and we sometimes ate together. On the one hand, I felt sad because he thought all men were equal, "they always end up cheating on their partner with a younger woman." But, then, I could not hate them as I saw two very good people. Now I'm glad to have been low, because a few months after, he separated from his wife and he married the girl a year later. Things would have been a lot more complicated if I had told them about it.

Waiting? Reasons for and against

We have also asked our respondents to give us reasons for and against having an extra-marital affair:

  Yes

  When it comes to a close personal friend and you are absolutely sure you know (Freedom, 29 years old)

  When it comes to someone who is constantly cheated on and everyone knows it except for him / her (Gemma, 29 years old)

  When that person trusts you, you have to tell them (Santi, 30 years old)

  When someone is going to get married or take an important step with someone who is cheating on them (John 31 old)

  When cheating is lying or doing something wrong to another person or when you are accused of being crazy for imagining things (Laura, aged 27)

  When you have confidence to speak directly about whom they cheated on you with and you can tell it is them who should tell their partner (Sara, 33 years old)

  I would like him to tell me, I would die if he publicly cheated on me (Elena, 26 years old)

  No

  When you're not 100% sure of what you saw (Luis, 34 years old)

  When it comes to something that you heard and not seen yourself (July, 34 years old)

  When you have no confidence win a person or you do not know them (Patricia, 28 years old)

  When you do not know if this is an isolated case of infidelity (Leire, 30 years old)

  When you're not sure why that person cheated. Maybe they were not happy, they were in love with
  another, his / her partner did not treat them well, their partner does the same ... (Carlos, 29 years old)

  Never get into the lives of others (Raul, 31 years old)

  For me, infidelity is not so important, it can happen to everyone and if my spouse is cheating on me, I’d
  rather not know because I wouldn’t have to get over it (Laura, aged 32)

  If my spouse has cheated on me but decided to follow me, I prefer not to hear, especially if from a third
  party (Javier, 36 years old)

  If my girlfriend deceived me, I would not like to hear it from others (Oscar, 35 years old)

I Broke My Family

0 comments
I got separated from my husband, who was too selfish.  His faults included: coming home from work and playing in front of the television; never making love to me and so on..

I have my 4 children, aged between 11 and 5. I want to start my life all over again with a man I met on the net. He is 45 and I am 35 years. He has a son in alternating custody with his ex wife. At first, we walked, hugged, went out to dinner and then, I moved in with him and my 4 children. Now, everything is changed. I find myself alone in the kitchen, cleaning, ironing and gardening. I wanted to find work, but the 2nd appointment at the employment center went on like this: "You can stay if you are dedicated to your job only”. I understand the man’s thinking: he wants me to raise my children better, which is fine, it works, and he is not interested in money as long as I got there at 7.

I thought he was the ideal father-I did not see that it was even worse than my ex, no more kisses, no more hugs, the kids didn’t have an example to follow. If one of my sons breaks the cherry blossom, he loses his temper and hits him.  If the children don’t stay at the table for an hour, he takes their food and eats it. I'm tense, I made efforts to change. ... I fear his explosive reactions that can happen at any time and varied and pointless excuses. Finally, thanks to the Internet, which once united us, we no longer see each other that often. He comes home from work, stays in front of the TV and plays, without even noticing me.

Changing the subject, I lost all my friends and I cannot be happy because every time I start talking about something I like, he becomes intolerant, selfish, egocentric in the sense that he wants me to take care of him, but not the other way around. I do not feel like making love, I cry at night in secret because I'm not allowed to cry as he doesn’t stand that. I'm a mom who is responsible for 4 children with 600 euros for child support and I cannot even take care of m children properly anymore..... Today I know the consequences a woman who chose to raise her children and not to work.  She has to suffer.  I am so disappointed with his male selfishness, with his "I always try to have fun and think of others before thinking of myself. I am ashamed of myself, I broke my family for a heinous kind, my children are unhappy about not seeing their father every day, but only once every seven weeks."

Goodbye to the Traditional Monogamy

Cupid sometimes has bad aim and sends arrows to someone’s heart my mistake. Thus, he has no choice but to try again and again, until he finds the right person. Does it have anything to do with the priest saying "until death do you part?”

We are in the XXIst century and the concept of family has changed. It is not desperately looking for someone with the sole purpose of perpetuating the species as a family and living together forever. The ghosts of 'old maids' are gone and we all enjoy our individuality. The couple becomes an annex to our lives, a way to get intimate with well-being. This makes us flee when things go wrong and break the emotional balance. Then, we return to start a new cycle of celibacy until another goal is in our way.

So we're developing a curriculum which is more sentimental than the fruit of our love or simply a consequence of an eternal jinx doing us wrong again and again. There is a list of achievements that reflect a restless or less hectic love life. Thus, a new way of understanding the relationships was born: the sequential monogamy. Mixing tradition and compensation, a form of revenge for a grandmother who had to 'hold on' to her relationship, being afraid of what people thought.

Love with an expiration date

Scientists have taken away a psychological weight. We are not perverted and insatiable beings who change partners on a whim. It is nature itself that makes us mark our sentimental path. And, according to investigators, the eternal love is utopian. The infatuation lasts between one and a half and four years. Thus, the couple continuing beyond this time is practically going 'against nature', rebelling against the animal instinct. Carrying on or not carrying on with the relationship will depend on the human, social and sexual bases on which the sentimental story is built.

The first breakup is always harder.

Our first love remains buried in our hearts and it is sometimes an obstacle in the way of understanding our further relationships. There are biased remnants of failed relationships that are very unhelpful when it comes to facing new challenges. So, subsequent ruptures are not usually so dramatic. Your happiness will be the secret weapon to help you build skills that will be useful in the future and you can also maintain the illusion of a new partner or that of your own lives, if you choose to enjoy it without compromise.

There is nothing to worry about. The man has a survival instinct that makes him get over the obstacles he encounters in life again and again without losing the joy of a new love. "The man of our life", becomes "the man in our lives." He is like half an orange with different faces that will toughen a list of romances for some outrageous and for others rational.

Express Divorce

About 140,000 divorces were registered in Spain last year, according to statistics on annulments, separations and divorces released by the National Statistics Institute (INE). Despite looking like an alarming number, we're lucky, since the rate dropped by nearly six per cent over the previous year, 2006, breaking the upward trend that has been observed in recent years.

Many blame the passage of the law of "express divorce" for the boom that has been occurring in Spain since 2005, when it all began. So, in 2006, Spain ended up as the country with the third largest divorce rates in the European Union. According to the General Council of the Judiciary, there was a 48.1 per cent growth in the number of divorces, as compared to that of separations, which occurred as a result of using the new law.

In this sense, experts say that the reform of the Civil Procedure Law has introduced many facilities to eliminate couples who were saved from pre-separation procedures and to give them a period of reflection that in some cases resulted in reconciliation. The freedom of choice leads to taking the 'way through' as the only solution in some cases.

To lighten or not to lighten our sentimental list? That is the question ...

The first ... the innocent love of children, the second ... a gulf with the word that I discovered the infidelity and the third ... a shoulder to cry on, the room ... an 'affair' disco jocks with that empty brain, the fifth ... "true love" that fails to run God knows why, the sixth ... seventh ... eighth ... Now that is the "ultimate love," "Should I tell my sentimental history or should I omit certain chapters of my life?"  This is the eternal dilemma.

According to the survey by the Institute Review on "the sexual habits of the Spanish," the man confesses to an average of seven sexual partners during his lifetime, and women to three. Is this real? Socially, should I recognize a past filled with sex?

Culturally, women contiuned to be instilled with the idea of eternal love, or at least, of lasting love. Finding a virgin man leaves no attitude of joy or sorrow in a female. But what about in a man? In many cases, virginity becomes the 'Golden Fleece' that enhances an already hedonistic manliness.

But in general, in a society that has evolved towards equality, at least in nominal terms, the men understand and assume the sexual lives of their partners. The love lives more freely, they have someone with whom to share. You may assume that a person with a certain age has had several mistresses throughout his life and even children resulted from these relationships, which does not prevent them from falling in love again. Thus, inadvertently, we implicitly assume that love is not eternal, that it is born and transformed over time, and that there is no day without love, just like it happens with wine.

There are limits so that the number of lovers is not shocking? One, ten, twenty? Agreeing to a person who has had multiple partners over their lives can offer more mature relationships if taken advantage of that experience. It is a matter of perception.

Emotional dependency syndrome or bad luck?

What do we learn from stringing love? That this is a problem of emotional immaturity or that we simply have a jinx that does not allow us to be with him. How to differentiate one situation from the other? Answer the following questions: Do you really like having a long-term relationship? If so, have you noticed if you are attracted to guys who share some common features when it comes to their profile? Do you have an urgent need to always have someone by your side, but it ends up coming out all wrong? If you answered yes to any of these issues, you may be experiencing the "emotional dependency syndrome."

The emotional dependence syndrome is the continuing need of individuals to always be with someone, i.e. the need to feel loved and followed. This extreme situation forces people who have it to look around and the search love of their lives. This attitude may appear to be timely in the life of an individual, there being very passionate relationships, but there is a constant that determines a pattern of emotional behavior that results in a psychopathological phenomenon and this is more often.

If you need love so strongly, your relationships should not result in relationships marked by suffering and dissatisfaction. But normally, the clerk always just stares at people with attractive features for them, but gives poor pieces of advice for the rest of us: self-centered people, individuals and little caring dominant. The result? After an ordeal of continuing abuses of power, the relationship ends and the cycle begins again with finding another individual with similar traits to avoid fear and anguish of loneliness. That occurs if you are able to overcome a 'withdrawal' that leads him to try to go back to you or if you are the one that runs back.

Items to detect if we are prey to emotional dependency syndrome

- Dire need to continually seek relationships, considering the long life you could spend next to someone;
- Excessive need to be in continuous contact with a couple, even in the most inappropriate situations. You
  may have a precise attitude derived from everyday problems, making decisions and immediate
  accountability;
- Frequent choice of hedonistic, selfish, presumptuous and hostile partners to idealize, constantly
  overestimating their qualities;
- Subjugation to the couple as a means to ingratiate himself with her, which leads to an imbalance in the
  relationship;
- Preemption of the couple on anything else, neglecting family, friends, work and, of course, their own needs;
- Terror to a possible breakup, but the relationship is a real 'ordeal' with desperate attempts to resume if it
   finally breaks;
- Self-esteem in tatters, with unconsciousness of personal qualities or underestimation of the individual;
- Obsession with pleasing others, sacrificing personal desires in favor of acts to impress others; and
- Dread at the prospect of loneliness.

The curriculum of our famous sentimental life

Penelope Cruz. She changes her life partners just as frequently as she has movie premieres. She was first known for the music video which she filmed with Nacho Cano, who was her first love. After that, she simply could not stop: Gigi Sarasola, ex Marta Sanchez, Thomas Obermaier, an attractive lad of Czech origin, hence the leap to Hollywood with the high-profile relationship with Tom Cruise. Then came Matthew McConaughey, during the filming of "Sahara", Orlando Bloom and Olivier Martinez (Kylie Minogue's ex), a relationship which the actress never recognized, or Josh Hartnett, Scarlett Johansson’s former partner. Now, let us return to the national product, with Javier Bardem, perhaps the final relationship... at least for a while.

Ines Sastre. "Variety is the spice" and one that lives following this principle is our model Ines Sastre. Among her achievements, an aspiring star, Luis Alfonso de Bourbon, a Güell lifetime, a businessman of good fun, Colate Vallejo Nájera, the British playboy Tim Jeffries, the Belgian aristocrat Maleingreau Michel, the billionaire Neil Taylor, the adventurer Gilles Thornton, the Scotsman Simon Lovat, the Italian Maximiliano Bianchi ... The entrepreneur Alex Youran was the one who took her to the aisle, perhaps because of an unexpected pregnancy. A year later, the two finally said “Goodbye”.

Vicky Martín Berrocal. She rose to fame when she got engaged to the bullfighter Manuel Diaz, whom she married and who she had a child with. After separation, Vicky let her everyone down: Alvaro Muńoz Escassi Denilson, also known as Pepe Navarro. Her latest conquest was Israel Bayon, an entrepreneur who lives a tempestuous love story of comings and goings.

Lecquio, Dell'ate Antonia, Ana Obregon, Sonia Moldes, Sofia Mazagatos, Mar Flores, Susana Molina are just some of the stories that have starred in numerous covers of magazines. Maria Palacios seems to be closer to the altar ... for the second time. This is probably the chance to prove everyone that the Don Juan days are over.

Ana Obregón. Here are some of her former boyfriends who made her famous: Miguel Bosé, Alberto de Monaco, Oscar Lozano, Alessandro Lequio, Rafael Camino, Davor Suker, Miki Molina ...

 Joaquín Cortés. He launched his sentimental career with the model Marisa Jara, the former singer Manu Tenorio’s girlfriend. But above all the list of romances, including the model María Pineda, one of his first loves, the actress Canary Goya Toledo or Amparo LarraÅ„aga made a blast. The most international and most notorious of all was the relationship he had with the supermodel Naomi Campbell, who spoke of a suicide attempt subsequent to the breakup. Also difficult was the story he lived with his former personal assistant Asumu Kate, who claims to have got her hands on a dancer. Indonesia, a young Moroccan model is the latest conquest, but the two already decided to live together. Does this sound like wedding bells?

The Evolution of the Couple: Jealousy

0 comments
Jealousy is a destructive feeling in the couple. It is important to distinguish the difference between natural and sick jealous.

Although jealousy is common to talk about, it is still a taboo subject. We encourage you to think about it and work with your partner to solve this problem.

Many of the facts and arguments presented below explain the difference between normal jealousy and morbid jealousy. Find out which it is that you and partner experience and work on it!

Jealousy is an intense feeling that arises when you experience an excessive desire to possess a loved one, friend or children exclusively."

According to many experts, jealous people have a distorted, wrong thinking, because although they love someone, they can never possess them because it is not a matter of private property since we are talking about people.

Fear of losing the other person

It has always been said that jealousy is due to a person’s emotional insecurity. However, this is not true in most cases. Jealousy is almost always normal and not pathological, because it is the result of a third real factor that disturbs the balance of the relationship.

Normal jealousy is justified because we are invaded by a feeling of discomfort that your partner expresses, an exaggerated attraction felt by someone else other than us. Jealousy is a real fear of losing a partner and our response to perceiving some danger in our relationship. Our life together gives us many satisfactions and it is natural to feel dominated by the rage at the thought of losing this valuable relationship and how to divorce or break up.

- An example: when your partner confesses that he felt attracted to someone you just met and began to reel off about why he is attracted to you: "... beautiful home, has lovely eyes, is very intelligent ... talks well ... seems very sensible ...". It is good that our partner tells us what he thinks of others, his thoughts, emotions and it must be clear that we can generate a jealous reaction (it is normal since we think we can lose that person), because at that time we proceed as follows: Thoughts: I like this person more than myself, he no longer finds me attractive, he can fall in love with her, he appreciates her more than me ....; and then a transient feeling of anxiety begins to take over ... which is anchored in the moment and doesn’t go away. That may be a "normal" reaction and that would be further standardized by speaking with your partner and sharing feelings about the issue that has occurred. That is a good antidote and, if handled well, it can lead to a reaffirmation of the couple.

A harmful exaltation

On the other hand, the jealousy is pathological when the threat is only imagined and invented by this third factor. The problem is when the intensity of the anger and jealousy exceeds the normal limits, because these attacks of rage and pain erode the relationship and make it feel like hell, creating a shadow over love. Jealousy can lead to domestic violence and crimes of passion.

The problem is that the person feels a pathological jealousy towards all the members of their family and sees their partner as a possession. They believe their body and feelings belong to them. When a person is jealous, it is because they see their partner as something that belongs to them. Jealousy can arise because we fail to see our partner as a subject and begin to see them as an object we possess. Jealousy and infidelity are not characteristic of human beings, but are learned behaviors.

A person jealous 'beyond measure' is ...

- someone who relates to the other with difficulty;
- someone who has difficulties assessing their personal values and who only succeeds in assessing the other’s;
- someone who depends on the other emotionally;
- someone who has difficulty growing emotionally; and
- someone who has difficulty building a relationship based on acceptance and trust.

If you see your partner experiences exaggerated and morbid jealousy, do not be fooled, do not think that's their expression of intense love for you, do not accept it as something tolerable or normal, because it will eventually destroy your relationship.

You walk with care

The man or woman will begin to distrust you and the jealousy will go away, until there is no communication and no dialogue. Jealousy may reach such a degree that it prohibits or prevents you from doing certain things, from talking to others and you may be monitored because the other thinks you are cheating on them. Use strategies that are not openly prohibitive, but they will make you feel bad if you do - emotional blackmail, anger, fights...

In many cases, morbid jealousy leads to continued physical and psychological violence, and even to one partner killing the other. The attacks of jealousy are the most common cause of spousal homicides and a determining factor in nearly 20% of all violent attacks in developed countries. Specialists in this area claim that jealousy is a predecessor state of psychosis and it can become delirious, as well as disturb one’s sense of reality.

Four types of jealous behavior:

Jealousy manifests: This is when, for example, your partner is suspicious of your loyalty and asks you about your co-workers, when they cannot stand you being near your friends or when you look to someone other than them. Also, they suspect you when you don’t answer their questions. If you respond, you get into a spiral that never solves the problem, but increases it for the future ...

Hidden jealousy: It is when, for example, when you have jealous and hostile attitudes, such as criticizing or nagging your partner, who is a man or woman highly respected in their profession, and you feel you get more power over him / her and that they are superior to you in some way. It is very often encountered in relationships that are based on certain equality.

Exaggerated jealousy: It is when there has been no infidelity, the couple was not emotionally close to another person, i.e. there is no apparent reason. (There may be actual or apparent reasons).

Pathological jealousy: It's when you get to prosecute or even to watch the couple.

Restore the reporting of the couple:

- If you are a victim of your partner’s irrational jealousy, you should not consent to their emotional blackmail
  or give in to requests which restrict your freedom or allow violent or aggressive behavior on their part; and
- If you're the jealous one and you want to overcome this problem, follow these tips from the experts:

1. The only thing you can do to end this situation is the psychologist or rupture. No doubt about it. How many times has the jealous one said that it was the last time, that they wouldn’t do it again? Have you never distrusted your partner so much that you were absurd?

2. Analyze at what times and in what situations you act jealous or think of what you would feel and what you would do in a particular situation. The thoughts come into your head automatically and we have described an example before. Describe (if necessary and record on paper then talk to your partner or to a professional) what you feel at the moment (anger, resentment, aggression, revenge ... like breaking the relationship...). Then, describe your behavior in that situation. (investigation, complaint, punching)

3. Talk to your partner and tell them what you feel and that you know that you are not acting with maturity and try to change something. Ask them to help you clearly see what is happening. Maybe your jealousy is related to your partner’s behavior and you have a real basis for your behavior (make an analysis of what happens in moments of maximum tension, but not quietly), but, more likely, it is just your imagination. If your partner talks to you about having this behavior or if it is true that there is another person in their life and they freely decide to tell you, talk with them because then, the problem is another.

4. Think that if your partner is with you, it is because they want to, so you do not have to compare yourself with anybody or compete with anyone. They think that jealousy destroys your relationship and separates you, so you should focus your energy in such a way that you find a solution for that not to happen and for you to control yourself.

5. Please be aware that the possession of the loved one is wrong in your relationship, you have to accept that your partner should be able to be alone or with others.

6. Jealousy also reflects an excessive dependency on the beloved one. Avoid this bond as a couple, allow them to continue interacting with others, pay off their interest in different people they know, let them carry out several activities on their own and open yourself to the opportunities that life is offering.

7. It works for your personal growth, your independence and your self-esteem, for example by developing activities that make you feel like home and comfortable, like writing, reading, dancing, going out with friends, playing sports, enrolling in courses, etc..

The measure provided by a competent professional psychologist

If jealousy is accompanied by violent behavior at home or at the office, come to a psychologist urgently and let them teach you how to control your jealousy. Although the jealous say that they will change, it is best to do so with the help of an appropriate professional. If you are a victim of your partner’s violent attitude, go to a help center immediately. Do not give them any other chance to manifest themselves because your life can be in danger.

It is important that you let yourself into the hands of a professional before the problem increases, because jealousy tends to grow if you continue to feed it. It can cause many problems and we may be forced to go through divorce mediation, in court and the rest of the nasty aspects of a divorce, but if we learn to have emotional control, we can replace it with more appropriate feelings and change our beliefs, attitudes and norms.

Things in Bed: A Taboo Problem for the Couple?

According to a study of sexual welfare in Spain, published by a famous brand of condoms, the majority of the Spanish admitted that sex is important.  The statistics revealed as follows: 67 per cent said it is beneficial to health; 81% - although less than half - 49% - say they are completely satisfied with their sex life.  It shows the desire of the Spanish to try new activities-54 per cent.  And, the conviction that peace and freedom are important satisfactions.

With regard to their sexual life, four in ten Spanish believe that their sex life would improve if they were less tired or stressed; 31 per cent would like to have more sexual desire; and 27 per cent put more effort in their love life. The sexual priorities are changing, according to the survey, which states that the Spanish claim to be dedicated. 43 per cent put in more affection and like to spend more time with their partner, four in 10 want to know how to please their partner and 3 out of 10 want a relationship based on more love and tenderness.

However, they still talk about sexuality produces restlessness, nervousness, and shame. They are still not open-minded when it comes to talking about these issues, but they affect us all. There are many misconceptions and myths about sexuality that interfere with our relationship. Communication between partners is essential in this.

More and more couples are seeing psychologists. Most of them say they do not love the other or want to like them like when they were dating. It is as if time worn out or lost the sexual desire for the partner in their relationship. This apparent lack of sexual appetite is the most common.

Sexual problems begin when communication fails, when there are no more words. There needs to be harmony in a couple for the sex life to be good, too. The rising emotional tension adds up to these problems. These relational problems are reflected in the loss of interest in sex. In this environment, it is common to see men and women who punish their partner by withholding sex, affection, hospitality, kisses and so on.

Sex lives 24 hours a day, not just in bed ... the other feels that you are interested in them, it is something that happens between two people in a relationship, something that occurs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Communication is what you need for better sex.

Do I need to be in love to make love?

Making love with the beloved is the ideal, the more enjoyable and more beautiful thing for most people. But this does not mean that you cannot have pleasant sex without loving the other since an absence of love does not imply a lack of physical attraction or an absence of sharing a moment. There can be very positive feelings that will participate at the sexual pleasure even without love. We can say that, generally, a very young woman needs to feel more love than a man in order to have sex. Over the years, things evolve and there is an increasing need to appreciate sexual pleasure with men, while a woman will appreciate sexual pleasure more and more, even without love. And there's something else: love can complicate the pleasure. When you love, you may be afraid of the other not liking it, not keeping up, of being rejected ... When there's less at stake, sometimes the pleasure is much more simple. However, it is true that the greatest pleasures are those that occur when love and sexual attraction go together.

The sexual activity is a reflection of the relationship: if the sexual part goes wrong, the relationship can go wrong and the other way around.

It is clear that the sexual partner is a reflection of the dynamics of the relationship. Time wears on sexual desire, but the relationship itself evolves over time, therefore, desire and love will also undergo changes. At the beginning, sex usually occurs continuously and it is new all the time. As time passes, it becomes something more than everyday life. The desire is not only sexual in nature. It is anything that gives us some kind of satisfaction and pleasure. This is what makes people move, make decisions. Within that desire is sexual desire itself. We would say that there are desires that are more satisfying than good sex.

Women have a different sexual desire of men

Women have a different sexual desire for men, but it cannot be said to be minor. A man wants his wife when he finds her beautiful, attractive, when there is physical attraction. A woman experiences greater willingness depending on the words she hears, the things that he transmits, when she is understood when speaking. And that is where the problem arises: in general, men speak very little and even less so when the issue is to give words of love. Thus, female desire can remain dormant. When a man can speak to a woman, she may feel a strong desire that can last for years.

And for the record, desire does not disappear in a couple, but it is put into other things. Over time, the power of desire is transmitted to other elements. It is clear however, that if we do nothing to stimulate or arouse our partner’s desire or sexual attraction or interest shown to us, there will be no desire. Relationships must be carefully administrated every day and sexuality is an element of linkage between these people. When there is good communication between partners, sexual pleasure often tends to increase in a partner with the passage of time. Many couples of a certain age, now retired, claim that their sexuality is much more fulfilling than when they were young. In fact, what has changed is the nature of desire. It is different and, in order to continue enjoying a rich sexual life, we must learn to evolve, to accept the passage of time, to understand one another and not just being led by a hormonal skin-deep desire. We need to meet and exchange a real desire. This facilitates better understanding of the wishes of another, better responding to and it can reduce the misunderstandings ... In the end, you could say that the pleasure in the couple's something you have to spend time with over the years spent in that relationship. And this work is all worth it!

The shame and the desire

There are no two persons who are the same. In this sense, the good sex has to please both of them. Some women get more pleasure with preliminary acts of penetration. If their partner does not realize that detail, they will certainly end up having problems. We must pay attention to the other’s tastes. This is the way to get mutual pleasure. If everyone is on their own, it's natural that one is dissatisfied. Historically, there are cases of men and women seeking partners outside the type of sexual intercourse or acts that they enjoy, because their partners do not dare to do certain things. A very important lesson is to know that one can assume various roles: mother, father, woman, man, lover, worker, partner... We have to be different in every situation, so we leave aside certain moral questions in sexuality, as they only serve to inhibit us.

In order to get along with others, we must first get along with ourselves. Therefore, we must be more tolerant of the way we enjoy pleasure. Sexuality is just the way we interact with the world to obtain pleasure. It is social matter rather than a genital one and it allows the individual to get a wide range of types of satisfaction, since they do not always think of immediate and fast as the most enjoyable way to have sex.

The refusal to have sex in a certain way

People think that the "refusal to make a sexual practice can make the person get tired of it" ... When you love someone, you should listen to their wishes and try to understand them. But listening and understanding does not mean having to take all their wishes into consideration. It is perfectly normal that two different people do not have the same desires. And it is crucial for couples to respect the differences between the two partners. However, it is important to say no if your partner wants to do something that you don’t want to do. Ideally, say "explain to me why it is important to you". And then, "I understand, but it is not right, I do not feel like I can fulfill your desires". If you ever agree to a sexual practice that does not suit you, you will be disgusted or you won’t like yourself afterwards. And you will not feel good, in which case your partner cannot respect you, for the simple reason that you do not respect yourself. And you cannot love someone you don’t respect. So if you say yes to everything, if you accept all your partner’s wishes and go against your principles and your tastes, it is likely that the relationship won’t last very long.

TRUE: Sex is very important for couples

Sexuality is useful, beneficial, pleasant and positive, but it is not essential. Sex is a means of communication such as speech, gestures, writing, acting... Sexuality is a privileged and intimate way of expressing feelings, the desire to be near each other and much more when you are exclusive in the couple. Then, it becomes a privileged channel of trade. Sexuality is often the image of the couple, what a partner really is like. When a couple goes wrong, sexuality rarely goes well. But when a couple goes well, the sex usually works quite well, too. Therefore, one could argue that sexuality is a true proof of the health of the couple. However, sexuality can become a huge problem, without affecting the couple in their essence. A couple can feel very close to each other, with a very difficult sexuality, for example, in case of a serious illness. It can also happen that sexuality works quite well, while the couple is torn apart, in which case, the body understanding persists, although the relationship is breaking.

The normal rhythm of sex in couples

This subject has always been controversial ... and humor has been frequently used to ridicule certain situations. Some think that the more sex you have in your family, the better. Once a day, three times a week ... this is a myth and social hypocrisy. When a condom company publishes its annual numbers, we realize that the myths are not true. 72% of the Spanish have sex at least once a week, 74% usually talk to their partner about how they prefer to be intimate. The reality is that there is no rule in this area. You can only talk about media, in which case it should be noted that on average, the differences may be very important. The average is - in terms of statements (true or not) - slightly below 3 times a week. Some couples make love every day, even several times a day and some only make love once a week or even once a month. No one is normal or abnormal, there's just agreement or disagreement with this or that couple. The essential thing is that both partners are satisfied. On the other hand, it is very common for a couple to go through periods of intense sexuality, followed by much calmer periods or even totally calm ones. It is perfectly natural when a relationship goes on for years. In addition, the frequency of sex is only a number and it does not usually give an idea on the quality.  The time devoted to sex is longer the younger you are and the newest the link is: young people aged between 16 and 24 spend 24 minutes per act, while those over 55 spend only 12 minutes. The quality of the relationship also has to do with the time you invest. Again, all this depends on the tastes of each.

According to the survey mentioned above, every other Spanish thinks their sex life is not as exciting as they would like it to be. 49% find that their sex life is exciting and 51% say they lack variety between the sheets.

That's why it's important to be informed. It is the best antidote to prevent sexual dysfunction. When a person suffers dysfunctions that reflect that a continuation is absolutely necessary and appropriate, they need to consult a professional psychologist to help them solve the problem. If the dysfunction is chronic, the problem is much more serious. The earlier they start their treatment, the better their prognosis. The disorders to which we refer are:

- The lack of orgasm;
- Sexual desire disorders: Lack of sexual appetite / excessive appetite;
- Premature ejaculation; and
- Fluctuations of sexual arousal, erection and arousal in men and women and some others.
